App State Community Music School @ HUB Station

   Music is a Lifetime Companion

Young people across Caldwell County – Here’s your chance to develop the musical talent within you!

During spring 2022 at HUB Station, CMS is offering group youth classes in guitar (ages 12-18) and ukelele (ages 8-13) by local musician Dwight McGlynn; and in piano/ keyboarding (ages 7-13) by local artist Kendall Bray. CMS’s Caldwell programs are housed in HUB Station, giving access to a dedicated classroom and other common spaces for instruction and performance, including The Performing Arts Suite. See the posters at the right!

The Community Music School (CMS), part of the Hayes School of Music at App State, is offering face-to-face, group music classes at HUB Station in a partnership that expands community outreach by App State. Plan to join one or more classes to develop YOUR musician!

The Community Music School offers “Pay What You Can” options. Participants can select from a range of prices in registration ($275, $210, $150, $100 and $0).  Students/Families that need financial assistance may indicate so easily by selecting a cost less than the full cost of $250 for a series of 12 weekly classes.

Your offer WILL be accepted.

Registration for classes is handled by App State registration online, which can also be accessed at HUB Station. Lisl Doughton, CMS Director, can be reached by email at or by phone at 828-262-6629.
